The Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda, will be remembered in Christchurch today in an evening of poetry and folk songs to commemorate the anniversary of his birth in 1906. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971 while serving as Chile’s Ambassador to France. The evening, organised by the Chilean Working People’s Solidarity Committee, will be held at the Arts Centre.
