Aristoi passed in
The Preston Farm’s stud sire, Aristoi was passed in at auction at West Melton yes.terday for $ll,OOO. Bidding for the 12 yearold brother to the champion Sir Ivor began at $6OOO and rose quickly in $lOOO bids to peak at $ll,OOO not enough to persuade the sire’s owner, Mr Jack Litten to sell. Sale negotiations however, are continuing.
The other seven lots offered at the Preston Farm dispersal sale reaped $12,100 the highest price of $3OOO, attached to Koukla, an Aristoi mare in foal to Beaufort Sea. The six-year-old is a half sister to three winners including Bull’s Run, winner of seven races, Reefton Gold, six wins, and Irel, twice successful. Miss Montana’s a Gigantic
mare offered on account of Mr and Mrs J. T. Aspinall of Timaru also attracted $3OOO. From the Summertime mare Dinorah, Miss Montana won three races and has a colt foal at foot to Blue Vermillion.
The second highest passing was for the Kazakastan mare Claire Etoile, winner of three races, which was passed by at $3500. s
