Forfeiture of bail
PA Auckland An Auckland man who jumped $lO,OOO bail and was extradited from Australia has appeared again in the District Court at Auckland. Brian Ivan Agnew, aged 36, a Maori carver, of Glenfield, faces charges of breaking and entering the Manhattan Ballroom and possessing detonators and gelignite. Last month the court ordered Agnew’s $lO,OOO bail' to be forfeited after he had] failed to report to the police! and had not appeared for a depositions hearing. Two Auckland : women, Valdor Helen Murdoch and Shirley Doreen Fulcher, had each given a $lO,OOO surety for Agnew. The Court ordered them to forfeit $7OOO each. . ■ : Judge D. L. N- Maclean remanded Agnew in custody to April 28 for a depositions hearing.
