Lyttelton tugs kept busy during month
Lyttelton Harbour Board tugs were kept busy from February 26 to March 24, 1980, according to the .Harbourmaster (Captain J. A. Barbour). He said yesterday that 30 vessels had been aided into the harbour, 27 were assisted out, and 15 were helped tp shift berths. During the same period, five vessels arrived at Lyttelton direct from overseas ports: the Emanuel and the Lindfield (both from Melbourne), the Euplecta (Singapore), the ACT 3 (Britain), and the Forum Samoa (Nuku’ alofa). Five vessels sailed direct for overseas ports. These were the Australian Exporter- (to the United States), the Smolny (Nukualofa), the America Star (meat for Iran), the Anyuy (Shanghai), and the container ship ACT 3, which sailed direct for the Tilbury container terminal at the Port of London.
