Commuter petition
A petition signed by i 33,000 Aucklanders callings for improvements to the city’s commuter rail service i was presented to Parliament ' yesterday by Mr E. E. Isbey < (Lab., Papatoetoe). The petition, in the name 1 of Allan Walter Brewster, of j Papatoetoe, sought the es- I tablishment of a commuter 1
railway station as near to central Auckland as possible. It also wanted the Govern-! ment to rebuild existing rail-' way carriages with 100 per cent New Zealand content, to improve the South Auckland line, and provide 25 passenger community feeder bus services for each railhead.
