PA Auckland The running of the Railways should be taken out of Government hands, says the chairman of the Auckland Regional Authority (Mr L. I. Murdoch). Mr Murdoch told the A.R.A.’s policy and finance committee he thought a united transit authority would make a much better job. The Mayor of Auckland (Sir Dove-Myer Robinson) said that the stumbling block to a good railway system was the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) who, he said, had blocked moves for an improved system 10 years ago.
