Honorary fellowship
Dr J. F. Mann, principal of Christchurch Teachers' College, has been made an honorary fellow of the New Zealand Educational Institute at its annual meeting in Wellington. The award is made for outstanding service to education, on the recommend, ation of the institute’s professional committee. This includes representatives of the Minister of Education, teachers’ college principals, the P o s t-Primary Teachers’ Association, and the Association of University Teachers. Dr Mann has served the college as a lecturer and senior lecturer in education, as vice-principal, and as principal of the primary division. He has been principal of the college since 1575. He has been president of the Teachers’ College Association, and chairman of the Teachers’ College Principals' ' Association.
