Tables turned in women’s bowls
PA Auckland. Jo Hodder turned the tables on Rhoda Ryan to come from behind and win the women's masters bowls tournament by a decisive 22-8, at Auckland, yesterday. Mrs Ryan started off well in the final of the Air New Zealand event to lead 8-2 after six ends and led for the last time in the game on the tenth end—when the score was 8-6 in her
favour—but Mrs Hodder scored on the next ten ends to run out the easiest of winners. Third equal went to Mrs Campl and Mrs Clough. The event was held at the Herne Bay green. The big casualty of ths first day was the defeat of the world singles champion. Elsie Wilkie. Matamata, by the Bayswater player, Lois Hunt, In the third round.
