Rip warning at beaches
Rips and channellim caused by the ebb tide a 1.15 p.m. on Monday niadt swimming unsafe at man Christchurch beaches.
| People were warned bv ! surf life-savers not to take lilos into the water. ! There was alm surf at the [beaches and the water teni- | perature reached about 20deg. Few people were at ithe beaches in the morning, | but by mid-afternoon the I weather had warmed and there was a good crowd al all the beaches, said Mr N [M. Duckmanton, the Christ I church patrol supervisor.
