Firebombs thrown at house
PA Auckland Two firebombs were hurled at a Mount Eden house early on Saturday morning, one nearly smashing into a bedroom where a young woman was asleep. One firebomb set fire to a hedge, and the other bounced off the roof of the house, in Walters Road, and failed to ignite. One of the five occupants of the house, Mr G. Hubbard, said he was woken at 2.15 a.m. when the firebomb hit the roof. “I saw flames flickering outside and realised what had happened.” he said. The fire bomb nearly smashed through the window of a bedroom where Miss Tammy Heincen was asleep. The five occupants of the house managed to put the hedge fire out with buckets of water. The police are investigating.
