N.Z. wine for Britain?
. PA Wellington I New Zealand winei makers might have reason ' to put an extra sparkle in their bottles in a couple of months. The principal of the City of Westminster Chamber of Commerce trade mission to New Zealand and Australia. Ms Marian Aitken, is considering sending I about 15 of Britain's top ! wine-buyers to New Zea- ; land. Ms Aitken left Welling- ' ton yesterday for Sydney. She said that after returning to Britain she would i probably send the buyers
to Australia and New Zealand. They would not necessarily be looking for expensive wines. The scale of any wine export to Britain would depend on how t’commercially” it could be produced. “I think you are probably producing onlv enough for your own needs at the moment: it mav be a few years before there is a good enough market,” Ms Aitken said. Ms Aitken said she honed the buyers would be from the top wine and spirit importing firms.
