Sir, — A. L. Smith (October 16) must be one of those humourless types. As he would well know, not all telegrams contain bad news. The one he is writing about would be received by the majority in the district in the spirit in which it was sent, — Yours, etc., MICHAEL W. MURPHY, October 16, 1978.
