Site repossession
The Christchurch City Council will repossess a bach site at Taylors Mistake where a bach that was toppled ( three vears ago by a storm has not been removed or rebuilt. Last evening, the council confirmed the serving of a quittai notice and legal action against the bach owners, who in June had applied for a building permit. That application was
made after the council had' decided to clear the derelict building, but it was not followed up. The owners have made "little or no attempt’’ to meet council building permit requirements, according to a housing and property committee report. Recently the bach was damaged even more by vandals. and high tides have eroded part of a retaining wall protecting the site.
