New M.E.D. head
Mr J. H. Donald, a senior Municipal Electricity Department employee, who has been with the department since 1937, has been named to succeed the retiring General Manager, Mr J. P. Shelley. Mr Donald, aged 59, is! secretary of the M.E.D. He I was appointed to the new| post by the Christchurch! City Council last evening. I A chartered accountant, Mr| Donald. is president of the l Electrical Supply Authorities! Secretaries’ Association and; has been on the executive committee for 10 years. He will start in the new position on November 1. Before becoming the M.E.D. I secretary 11 years ago, he, I was assistant accountant and accountant. ■ Part of Mr Donald’s job (has been to prepare M.E.D. I financial estimates and annual I departmental accounts.
