Vandals caught out
I Recent publicity about roadjsign vandalism has paid off for the Automobile Association (Canterbury) — and for an informant. I Three persons were con- , victed after they damaged signs on the LauristonBarrhill road, between Rakaia and Methven. A witness had given the police the registration number of their car, and they were fined $l5O, disqualified from driving for six months, and ordered to pay restitution of $22 each.
The informant has been offered a small reward by the A.A., which says that similar action will be taken in all cases where a successful prosecution follows information given.
