Jubilee clock restoration
Sir, — Thanks and congratulations to those firms and their tradesmen who have done such a great job of restoration on the old clock tower in Victoria Street. While personally not one for old and very ornate architecture I must express my appreciation for those responsible in transforming an eyesore into a feature of civic interest and pride. The choice of such melodious and pleasant sounding chimes which penetrate (without irritation) the constant traffic roar is certainly to be commended. Time, with its inevitable persistence, is softened by this restoration. — Yours, etc., GRAHAME E. FELTON. July 2, 1978.
