Life-saving dogs
Sir, — Loyal, faithful dogs. Two life-savers in one newspaper last week, convinced me that we are so fortunate to have dogs around. They are much more than “man’s best friend”, they are heroes. In Hobart a boy was saved by his dog; in Wellington a girl was dragged out of the water by a dog she did not even own. How do “we” show our gratitude towards dogs? We let them roam the streets, we dump them, we do not care for them. What miserable creatures “we” are. — Yours, etc:,
E. WEBSTER. June 12, 1978.
