Mustchin out
The Belfast and Canterbury B prop, Bryan Mustchin, will not be playing any rugby this year. The 27-year-old Mustchin, who also represented Canterbury A in one game in 1976, has a slipped disc which requires an operation, scheduled tor June. Mustchin had considered some sporting activity involving less intensive scrummaging than that demanded by senior and representative rugby, but that was now ruled right out, he said yesterday. “The back has just had it, and whether I will be able to play again depends completely on this operation.” Mustchin is also a former i New Zealand water polo representative and in 1975 was vice-captain of the New Zealand Games team. He has now retired from representative play in this sport as Iwell.
