Faster B.A. service to London
British Airways services from Auckland to London will change to a new, faster route as from April and will be flown by the latest Rolls-Royce RB2II- - long-range 747’5. The flights will leave London at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, arriving at Auckland at 12.45 p.m. on Fridays and Mondays. Departures from Auckland will be at 4.45 p.m. on Fridays and Mondays, arriving at London at 11.25 a.m. the following day. The flights will be via Melbourne, Perth, and Bombay. Also from next month, all British Airways flights between London and Australia’s East Coast will cut out Hong Kong, thus reducing the number of stops to two. Perth will have three one-stop-only services every week. The new streamlined Australia service will put Perth within 18 hours 45 minutes of London, and Melbourne, just 23 hours away. Another “first” will be a common daily departure both from London to Sydney and from Sydney to London. Services in both directions will be twostop.
