The Boeing organisation in Seattle has received an order from Saudi Arabian Airlines for two 737 aircraft which, when delivered. will take the total sold to 545. An order from Trans-Australia Airlines for its tenth 727 will boost Boeing's sales for this aircraft type to 1503. « « «
A team of tour operators from Queenstown was in Christchurch last week to brief travel agents on their various activities. They included Messrs Clive Geddes (Walter Peak). British Airways has asked one of England's top design teams to get the measure of its men. The team is with Homes, the family firm of menswear specialists, which has signed a contract to design a range of uniforms and workwear for the airline’s 15,000 male staff. The contract was worn by Hornes against tough competition from more than 30 other other companies and follows the successful spring launch of a new uniform design by Baccarat foi the airline’s girls.
The travel editor might know the world, but his knowledge of Christchurch, it seems, is a little rusty.
His recent story about the purchase of White Heron Travel by Nathans placed White Heron at the corner of Gloucester Street and Chancery Lane. The agency (renamed Nathans, Travel), is in fact, now tucked under the Housing Corporation’s building in Cathedral Square near the Bank of New Zealand.
