Major Kiwi runs 65km
PA Invercargill With only one complaint—that the weather was a bit hot for running—Major Alby Kiwi arrived in Edendale (about 6 p.m. yesterday on I the first day of his run to (raise $lOO,OOO for the $700,000 national memorial war museum project at Waiouru. Major Kiwi intended to stay at the Edendale Primary School, and start running again at about 4 am. this morning. He hoped to arrive in Gore at 8 a.m. and carry on to Clinton, where he would spend the night. Major Kiwi covered 65km yesterday and was pleased with his programme. He left Bluff at 9 a.m. Free Fall, the Major’s dog, did not appreciate the heat, and did not run with him all the way.
