Proceeds for crippled

Local branches of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society now have their Christmas cards on sale with the proceeds going to the individual branches.

This year’s cards include four paintings of New Zealand scenes, including Omakau, Central Otago, by Peter Mclntyre; Awakino River, Taranaki, by Leonard Long; Lake Manapoun, by Don Neilson; and the Twelve Hills of the Apostles, Kaeo, Northland, by Ernest Buckmaster. An Australian, Ernest Buckmaster visited New Zealand at the invitation of Sir Henry Kelliher and many of his paintings hang in New Zealand motels and hotels.
