School fire damages storeroom
Fire severely damaged a storeroom, and bicycle shed at. the Fendaiton School in Clyde Road yesterday. The Fire Service declined last evening to say what caused the blaze, but it is believed that it might have been started by children.
Two engines from the Fendalton station were called to the school at 2.26 p.m. Firemen quickly brought the blaze under control, but the storeroom and cycle shed were extensively damaged. The wall of a nearby classroom was scorched by the heat.
A quantity of paper and other school equipment kept in the storeroom was destroyed. but no estimate of the cost of the damage was available last evening.
