Poon for N.Z. race series

| PA Auckland Two South-East Asian I driver s have signed for the Peter Stuyvesant international motor-racing series starting at Bay Park on January 3. They bring the number of overseas drivers in the series to 13 and the total number of starters to 22. In addition, negotiations are still under way with a further six drivers from overseas, and there are another possible three New Zealand starters. One of the new entrants, is Albert Poon (Hong Kong), who will drive Fred Opert’s Chevron. He has been a top driver in South-East Asian grand prix races for the last five years, and now lies second to Graeme Lawrence (New Zealand) in the SouthEast Asian championship which ends at Manila next week-end. The other driver is the former motor-cycling ace, Saswanto Beng, w'ho raced a Yamaha here in New Zealand last season. He will drive the Lola T 360 in which Ted Wentz won this year’s Formula Atlantic championship in Britain.
