Four teams have so far qualified in the fours championship at Canterbury. The skips are D. B. O'Neill, R. T. Bailey, K. Brierley and F. ‘ Lees. R. Thomas and J. Johns are the last two-lifers in the pairs and in the singles Lees, F. Pickering, Brierley, F. Brebner, A. Bailey and last season’s w'inner, H. Fletcher, are still unbeaten. The “home” team of B. Lawry, M. Hamilton, D. Paul and R. Scott (s) won a recent Sunday open tournament at Canterbury. Second prize went to T. Washington’s Burwood entry.

The Christchuch junior (no more than five years experience) team had a convincing seven games and a half to half a game win over South Canterbury in their annual fixture played recently on West End green, Timaru. Christchurch scored 223 points to South Canterbury’s 144. According to Mr D.
