Vitnam war

Sir, — I found Denis Warner’s articles on Vietnam most unconvincing. The heavy print quote of a report that People’s Courts with power of the death sentence had been set up to “try” middle-class people guilty of speculative hoarding sounds not unlikely but to imply that speculative hoarding should not be severely punished is extraordinary. And there is nothing to suggest that the death sentence would be necessarily used. It could be just a drastic threat to meet an unfortunate hangover from a weak society. I would hope that; someone who has more

first-hand information will be sought to write some more substantial articles. — Yours, etc.,
