Mr Onion to retire from Dairy Board
(y.Z Press Association) j HAMILTON. The Dairy Board’s deputy chairman. Mr F. L. Onion, announced his retirement in Hamilton. Speaking at the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company Dairy Board ward conference, Mr Onion said he would not seek re-election when his present term ends on June 30 after 19 years on the board. Mr Onion, who farms at Tej Kowhai near Hamilton, has! been chairman or deputy! chairman for 10 years and represented the New Zealand dairy industry for six yearsi on the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. He represented New Zealand many times during butter talks with Britain and also during negotiations with : Common Market countries, i He said there were manycapable young men on the board’s directorate and he was standing down to give one of them the opportunity to give greater service to the board and the industry. He would continue as a director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company.
