Second win to English yachtsman

(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) BRISBANE, Dec. 28. The English helmsman, ( Chris Law, sailed an outstanding race to win the second heat of the Pacific Cup Finn class championship on Waterloo Bay, Brisbane. todav. Law had a real battle on his hands to defeat fellow Englishman, David Howlett. These two skippers shared the lead at various stages of the Olympic course but although Howlett led at the final downwind mark, Law attacked strongly on the final beat.

Howlett, looking for an edge in boat speed, was adjusting his rig and failed to notice a crash tack by Law, who picked up a wind switch to take the lead, and from then on protected this winning margin to score his second win of the series with Howlett second and the Swedish skipper Lemmart Gustafsson third.

Jonty Farmer of New Zealand was fifth and David Schmidt (N.Z.) sixth.
