Policemen held at gunpoint
(N Z. Press Assn—Copyright) WELLINGTON, Dec. 29. A youth held two police sergeants e.t gunpoint for 20 minutes in Wellington yesterday. A person called the police at 9.30 p.m. to complain about three persons behaving suspiciously in Karori, a police spokesman said. The sergeants were sent to investigate. They stopped to talk to a youth, who then drew a pistol from his jacket and told them to “Freeze.” He held them for about 20 minutes, threatening to shoot them if they moved. Then he dropped the gun and ran off.
Policemen found the gun —- a slug pistol — and later arrested a youth.
A 16-year-old apprentice printer will appear in court at Wellington today ac-
cused of four related offences.
