Ship calls with engine trouble

Engine trouble forced the vessel C. Joyce to make an unscheduled call at Lyttelton yesterday. She was on her way from Dunedin to Napier and was in the Canterbury Bight when the trouble occurred, late Wednesday evening. A surveyor inspected the engines last evening, but the

cause of the trouble was not available.

The C. Joyce has been loading general cargo from New Zealand for Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. # $ $

The Lyttelton Anglican parish fair will be held in the Harbour Board Hall tomorrow. The theme will be i the history of the parish. The i Lyttelton museum will be open for the duration of the ifair, and so much historical material will be on display.
