Child struck by car
A two-year-old boy is in Christchurch Hospital after being struck by a car on the corner of Barrington and Somerfield Streets at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday. He is Hamish MacKenzie, of 4 Paikea Place, Somerfield. He was admitted to hospital with head injuries. Alistair Phillip Wannel, aged 25, of 57 Selwyn Street, Addington, was admitted to hospital just after noon with leg injuries after a car and a motor-cycle collided in Tuam Street. Leonard Houghton, aged 77, of 60 Curletts Road, Upper Riccarton. is in a poor condition in Christchurch Hospital after he was struck by a car in Cashel Street, opposite Zetland Street, at 10.29 a.m. He was admitted with head and chest injuries.
