Resignations accepted

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Football Association executive members who resigned last week over the Lion Chatham Cup final venue dispute had their resignations accepted, “with regret.” Messrs P. Killick and JHipkins resigned following a decision to poll the N.Z.F.A. Council on where the final should be held, after the executive had chosen the Basin Reserve. The council, by 12 votes to 10. reversed the executive’s decision and selected Newmarket Park. Auckland, as the venue for the Christchurch United-Blockhouse Bay final on September 13. The jobs of the resigned men on the executive will be filled by Mr E. Gould (fixtures convener) and the former New Zealand representative, Mr G. P. Bilby (senior delegate to the National League Committee).
