Petition on abortion
GV.Z Press Association)
WELLINGTON. 26.
A petition bearing 113,381 signatures was presented to the Minister of Health (Mr McGuigan) today by the Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child. It calls for Parliament to recognise the right to life of the unborn child.
The petition also called for the protection of all human life, at whatever stage of development, and demanded an end to the exploitation of abortion. The national president of the society (Dr Diana Mason) said that the signatures had been gathered from all parts of the country in only two months. She said the petition! would probably now be given to the National M.P. for Miramar, Mr W. L. Young, who would present it to Parliament,
