School bus plea
(N.Z. Press Association! NELSON, August 27. About 1600 vehicles more than 15 years old carry children daily on school bus routes, according to a delegate attending the Schoo! Transport Contractors' Association conference in Nelson. The conference decided to make urgent representations to the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Freer) to alleviate the shortage of buses. The association will ask Mr Freer to consider releasing Government vehicles for use and to look at importing used vehicles. J The president, Mr I. Pavlo-j jvich, of Hamilton, said all; school bus operators would! love to have new vehicles! and despite what the parent . teacher associations say, they! would also be happv to have reduced loadings.
