PRESIDENT’S CROQUET

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Two players remain unbeaten after the first two rounds of the President’s invitation trophy croquet tournament which began at the Waimarie club, Wellington, yesterday. Two New Zealand representatives, John Prince and Alan Anderson, both had two comfortable victories. Prince, the holder of the President’s Trophy, easily disposed of Jack McNab in the first round and followed that with a 26-9 win over the New Zealand singles champion, Bob Jackson. Anderson notched two good; victories over the youngster,' Paul Skinley and in the second' round Keith Woollett. Skinley, al finalist in the open singles this year suffered another loss in the second round, losing 12-26 to Cliff Anderson. Scores:—

First round.—R. Jackson 26. A. Ross 4: K. Woollett 26, C. Anderson 13; J. Prince 26, J. McNab 10; A. Anderson 26, P. Skinlev 12.

Second round.—A. Anderson 26, K. Woollett 17; J. Prince 26, R. Jackson 9; C. Anderson 26, P. Skinley 12: J. McNab 26, A. Ross 16.
