The touring Invercargill swimming team has been beaten by Tasmania in aU four tests of the series which finished on Sunday night tn Launceston. Part of the series, the first by a Southland team, was also held in Hobart, Invercargill’s sister-city. Tasmania scored 895 points to Invercargill’s 557. The New Zealanders won only 11 of the 78 events in the series.

Mr Russeli Cushen. the assistant team manager, blamed the cold weather and Tasmania’s uncovered swimming pools for his team’s defeat.
