MT COOK EXECUTIVE DIES

Mr Donald William Davis, the New Zealand manager of the light aircraft division, of Mount Cook Airlines, has died in Queenstown. He was 59. Mr Davis was responsible for all the company’s light aircraft operations at Invercargill, Te Anau, Queenstown, the Glaciers, Mount Cook, and Auckland. He was also the regional manager for the company in Queenstown. Bom in Nelson, he started work with the Wellington accounting firm, Barr, Burgess and Stewart. In 1937 he joined the sales staff of Coulls, Somerville, Wilkie and became general manager in 1949. He left in 1960 and settled at Lake Hayes before moving to Queenstown. In 1967 he was appointed to the executive position in Mount Cook Airlines. Mr Davis is survived by his wife and son.
