Canterbury teams to playjr in preliminary rounds of the h Wilding Shield and Nunneley j Casket interprovincial tennis h competitions this week-end have been selected as fol- J lows:— Wilding Shield.—W. Edge- *• cumbe, S. Menzies, W. Thom t and R. Webster. 2 Nunneley Casket.—Mrs R j Hunt, Mrs S. Haig, Miss J. S Phillips. Miss C. Newton. , In the Wilding Shield, which will be played at Timaru. the draw is Otago v. South Canterbury, and Canterbury v. Southland on) Saturday, the winners to play! off on Sunday. For the Nunneley Casket, which will be played in Christchurch, the draw is Otago v. Nelson, and Canterbury v. Marlborough, the winners to play off on Sunday. Otago beat Southland by 7 matches to 3 last week-end to take its place in the draw, i The winners of the prelimlinary tournaments will' qualify for the semi-finals (and finals to be held in Wei (lington on February 23 and 24 .
