(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Jan. 28. The girl killed at Te Awamutu on Friday when she fell off the back of a truck was Roseanne Mary Gage, aged 13, of Kihikihi. Police inquiries into the accident are continuing.

Australian appointment.— A New Zealand geologist, Professor Bruce Waterhouse, has been appointed to the new Dorothy Hill chair of palaeontology and stratigraphy at Queensland University. He previously worked for 12 years as principal scientific officer with the New Zealand Geological Survey and has been associate professor in the geology department at the University of Toronto, Canada.—(P.A.)
