Landscaping of motor inn
Sir. —Arlington Motor Inn. Ltd is extremely reluctant to enter further into this
; correspondence because itsj I town planning application is still under consideration by the Christchurch City Council. There are, however, two points which could be made. First, there is nothing illegal about Arlington at its present stage of erection and, indeed, another floor is still legally authorised. Second, Arlington at present is not under any obligation to carry out special landscaping. This has been promised if the dispensations now applied for are granted; in which event, all undertakings, including the incorporation of the corner site as open space, will be honoured. I would like to add that reasonable landscaping will be carried out anywav, and the contractor has now recommenced this work.—Yours etc., J. A. ROTHERA, Director, Arlington Motor Inn, Ltd. January 23, 1974. • fThis correspondence is now ’closed.—Editor.)
