Library and Art Gallery
Sir,—Further to Robert and Sarah Clarkson’s suggestion that a library-art gallery complex (which itself is a splendid idea) could be built within an area bounded by the museum and Town Hall, could not the area of the present university site which is used presently for prefab buildings be used for this purpose? It is to be hoped that these make-do buildings will be dispensed with when the university moves and something of an acceptable aesthetic quality must surely be done in this area to try to compensate for the Police Station and postal centre block. —Yours, etc., DENISE ANKER. June 15, 1973.
