Injured jockey improving

Short, who was admitted to Mlddlemore Hospital after a fall at Ellerslie on Saturday, was reported In a fa'r'v satisfactory condition yesterday. snort's injuries include a fractured spine, eight broken ribs, and lung damage. He Is likely to remain In hospital for at least six weeks. Short suffered his injuries in a fall from Mr Jones in the Campbell Hurdles.
