Drug squad raids

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Dec. 21. Twenty-one policemen, including C. 1.8., uniformed branch, and Wellington drug squad members raided 16 premises in Palmerston North today and arrested eight persons on drug charges. The officer in charge of the raids. Detective Chief Inspector S. B. McEwen, of the Palmerston North C. 1.8., said 16 search warrants were executed between 7.45 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. today. The seven males and one female, all in their late teens or early twenties, will appear in the Palmerston North Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on charges of use of a narcotic, possession of a narcotic, and possession of utensils.
