Safe boating award

The Safe Boating Award for 1972, the second of the now annual awards to be made, has gone to a Wellington man, Mr R. O. Chatfield, who is the commodore of the power boat squadron of the (Evans Bay Yacht and Motor 'Boat Club.

The award is sponsored by the small boat safety committee of the Ministry of Transport’s Marine Division and is awarded to the small boat owner who is judged to have done the most to promote the ideals of small boat safety during the year. Mr Chatfield received an award certificate and a i marine binocular inscribed I with his name and the year iof his award.
