Deputation on Vietnam

WELLINGTON, Dec. 21

The secretary of the Federation of Labour (Mr W. J. Knox) led an eight-man deputation to the United States Acting Ambassador in Wellington (Mr C. B. Wood) today, to protest about the breakdown of the Vietnam peace talks between Dr Kissinger and Mr Le Due Tho, and the renewed American bombing of North Vietnam.

The group was with Mr Wood for about 20 minutes.

Included in the deputation were representatives of the Wellington Trades Council, the University Students’ Association, the National Council of Churches, the Wellington Committee on Vietnam, and the Public Service Association.

Afterwards. Mr Knox said Mr Wood, gave the group an “amicable hearing.”
