RHODESIAN CENTRE

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CANBERRA, Dec. 6. Australia’s new Labour Prime Minister (Mr Whitlam) has decided to close down the Rhodesian information centre in the Sydney suburb of Crow’s Nest. Political sources say that an approach is being made by the Government to the Premier of New South Wales (Sir Robert Askin) to deregister the centre, and that if the State Government declines to co-operate, the Federal Government will invoke its power to close the centre, in pursuance of a United Nations resolution calling on member-countries to give no aid to the illegal regime in Rhodesia.
