WOMEN’S TITLE
Softball not decided Christchurch West beat Spreydon, 12-4, last evening, in a Canterbury senior women’s soft* ball match which had been deferred from an earlier date. The victor at first thought that the win had given it the interclub championship by the marfin of two points, putting it in ront of the perennial provincial club champion, Monowai. However, it was later discovered that the Canterbury Softball Association— which at the beginning of the season had agreed on five full rounds for the competition—was contemplating an additional round. If a sixth round is played, some games will have to be held over two days of a week-end In March or during an evening. March 4 is the only Saturday open to competition. The senior women's representative team will play Otago at Dunedin this Saturday, a representative quadrangular tournament involving players from senior clubs will be held at Greymouth on March 11 and 12. and Monowai, the province’s Dustin Cup entry, will be playing in the national inter-club championship in Hastings on March
The competitions committee of the C.S.A. will hold an emergency meeting to decide whether a sixth round woud be feasible.
