Air crash kills 28

(N.Z.P.A "Reuter—Copyright) VIENNA, December 22. A Bulgarian airliner has crashed at Sofia Airport, killing 28 of the 73 passengers and crew aboard, the Bulgarian news agency, B.T.A. reported today. It said the plane crashed as it was taking off late last night. The Soviet-built Ilyushin--18 airliner was starting what the news agency described as an “extraordinary" flight from Sofia to Algiers. If the flight was a special one it might have been taking teams of technicians, or some official delegation to Algiers, observers said.
