‘Thank-you’ from elderly
i The Christchurch Aged , People’s Welfare Council , very sincerely thanked all : those people who had given i time, money and help to i many, of the aged in Christ- : church through the council, i said Mrs M. E. Lawrie, secretary to the council, yesterday. “The chairman and mem- ' bers of the executive of the council would like to thank the staff of 3ZB for gifts for the Christmas tree; the children of Spreydon School and of the Central New Brighton School; the Hyman Marks Trust; the Shell Oil Company; women’s groups in the country and city; and other friends, for their most generous gifts of Christmas parcels and money,” Mrs Lawrie said. "The activities of the council are many and varied, contact is made with a great number of old people throughout the year. At this time we like to remember those who have sought our help and those who have made it possible for us to distribute more than 500 gifts to these older people.”
