EASY ANGLING
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. An angling resort will be opened soon at Thredbo Village, 300 miles south of Sydney, near the peak of Australia’s highest mountain, Mount Kosciusko (7314 ft The village will have artificial lakes stocked with trout trained to bite.
The lakes are part of a sAustso, ooo trout farm which will be opened next month. Each lake will be 100 yd by 25yd and sft deep. Trout will then be put into each lake, and the developers say that the trout will bite readily because they are
used to food being thrown into the water from the bank. When a lure, or even a bare hook, touches the surface of the water, the trout are expected to strike. Apart from the eager fish, the lakes, have other attractions.. Each angler will be accompanied by a caddy, to carry equipment, and a cook, armed With a frying pan, to cook the catch. Mr M. Matthews, a spokesman for the company promoting the resort, said: “This type of fishing will be a boon, particularly for women who would like to try trout fishing but have not done so because of the lack of comfortable facilities.’’
